Brit Milah/Baby Naming

New Babies – New Parents

Celebrate the birth of your baby and welcome him/her into the embrace of the Jewish community with a naming ceremony: Brit Milah for a boy or Simchat Bat for a girl. A Brit Milah or Simchat Bat ceremony can be done at your home or at the synagogue. Depending on availability, you may also rent space at Adath Israel for this ceremony. Please call the Adath Israel office for more information and mohel recommendations. At Adath Israel, a Brit Bat or Simchat Bat takes place during a morning service in which the Torah is taken out of the ark and chanted. The new parents will bring the baby up to the bima for an aliyah, and will receive a special blessings from the rabbi. Each ceremony will be uniquely crafted by the Rabbi and guided by the wishes of the parents/guardians. Please contact our office to schedule a meeting with the Rabbi.

Every new Adath Israel baby will also be sent an “Adath Israel’s Newest Member” onesie, so remember to confirm your mailing address when you call to let us know about your simcha.
